That thing is so illegal. I can’t believe it’s advertised as a 2001.

That does look amazing, but you should really look into those “Clean titles” I don’t see an American licence plate and that is worrisome.

I say you should worry because I honestly doubt the beetle clears US emissions, never mind safety, and its a 2001 model so it is within the 25 year or older ban.

Also, get rid of those rims.

A Beetle needs to be at least 25 years old to get in here, just like every other car. Doesn’t matter if it’s a 2003, or a 1993, that shouldn’t be here.

How the hell did that thing get a “clean title?”

If I had to guess, I’d say the title says something like 1972 Super Beetle on it.

Yeah, that’s why I bid the Mako some caution!

Oh it’s definitely illegal. The title will either be a Mexican one, or one that reads it as a 1970's beetle, I suspect.

I’m gonna go with “suspiciously absent” for 500.

That’s exactly why I said I couldn’t believe it was listed as it was. List it as a “1972" and tell people you restored with with 2001 parts.

if i recall correctly, the 25 year import ban was on cars that were not originally offered in the united states.....

.... which the Beetle was not in 2001.

Same goes for the Austin Mini. Originally sold here (like the Beetle) until they couldn’t meet safety requirements. Anything after that falls into the 25 year rule.
